HTC has launched the octa-core HTC Desire 820 in India, alongside the quad-core HTC Desire 820q. The two smartphones will be made available in the market from early-November, and no pricing has yet been revealed. Also launched at the event was a 3G-only version of the HTC Desire 816, called the Desire 816G, priced at Rs. 18,990 and due to hit the market in early-October.

The highlight of the HTC Desire 820 (seen above), which was globally unveiled at a pre-IFA 2014 event, is its 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC (1.5GHz quad-core + 1.0GHz quad-core) with integrated 4G LTE Cat. 4 connectivity. The dual-SIM (Nano-SIM) HTC Desire 820 runs Android 4.4 KitKat with HTC Sense UI skinned on top. The smartphone is the successor to HTC Desire 816 (Review | Pictures).  It features a 5.5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) display.
